Shell Cottage

Shell Cottage is a very pretty, traditional Cornish cottage just a few metres from the water's edge in the picturesque village of Flushing. I can just imagine myself getting up in the morning at Shell Cottage, strolling to the shop for a paper, lazily eating a breakfast of fresh coffee and croissants in the garden whilst watching the action on the water. Then ambling along the coastal paths, working up an appetite, before relaxing for lunch at the Pandora Inn, a very popular, thatched Cornish Inn serving home cooked food on Restronguet creek.

Internally this cosy cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard with a lovely open, Victorian fireplace, super comfy beds, a stunning Moben kitchen, good quality furnishings and night store heaters. All in all a perfect retreat.

Flushing has two pubs, both serving food, an excellent fish restaurant, as well as a post office stores and a gift boutique. On Tuesdays and Fridays, the sailing clubs are out on the water, a sight not to be missed. If you fancy a go yourselves, we can provide you with lots of information on sailing clubs and organizations for the novice to the much more experienced.

From Flushing to Falmouth is a ten minute drive via Penryn. Truro, the city of Cornwall is just 15 minutes in the car, St Ives and the Eden Project are 40 minutes.

Prefer not to use the car? The foot ferry goes hourly to Falmouth from Flushing Quay, (just opposite Shell Cottage) and from Falmouth you can get ferries to Truro, St.Mawes and Mylor. From Falmouth you can also, for example take a boat trip up the River Fal or over to the beautiful Helford River. After hours why not take the Ocean Aqua Cab, which operates like a normal road taxi.

ENTRANCE PORCH into

SITTING ROOM : with ornate, open fireplace. Comfortable seating for five, TV and DVD player. Recessed shelving, small tables and lamps. Views of the front lawn area and the water. You may have an open fire, one basket of logs are provided, but please bring your own kindling and firelighters if you require them. Folding dining table and four chairs.

KITCHEN : with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, Belfast sink, drainer and ample kitchen equipment. Tiled floor and under floor heating. Washing machine and further storage under the stairs. Door to outside.

Pretty, light HALL : with stairs to first floor.

DOUBLE BEDROOM : Double bed, pine chest or drawers, bedside table and lamps. Door to

DRESSING ROOM : Wardrobe, chair and chest or drawers and ladder up to DOUBLE BED ON MEZZANINE with light, velux windows and wooden railings to stop you falling out of bed! Stable doors from the dressing room open onto a gravel path which leads to garden.

SECOND DOUBLE BEDROOM : with double bed, small built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside lamp. Views of water.

BATHROOM : in blue and white seaside theme. Bath with electric shower over, basin and WC.

GARDEN : Accessed from the kitchen, up a few steps and a gentle sloping path, to a good-sized level grassed area, offering sea views and wooden garden furniture, perfect for eating out on those long summer nights.

PARKING : For one car in allocated space on Flushing Quay.
